Puzzle, fidget and art piece in one — loved by kids from 8 and by the adults who borrow theirs

Every Shashibo is built to meet another one. Magnets on the outer faces line up across series, so a Grateful Dead cube can hold hands with an ICOSA XL and an OCTA on the same table.

Every series has its own artwork outside and three hidden designs inside — the patterns change as the cube unfolds.

Shashibo is a hinged ring of triangular pieces with magnets in exactly the right places. Nothing comes apart — it only folds, flips and clicks.
Outer magnets let cubes join edge to edge, so a set of four builds structures one cube never could.
One outer artwork plus three inner panels that only show up as you fold — the cube looks different in every shape.
No clicks, no batteries, no app. It sits on a desk, in a classroom or in a pocket and stays silent while it works.
Tear-resistant stickers over injection-molded plastic, sized at about 2.4 inches so it fits a palm.

Three bodies, one magnetic universe. All three snap together, so the choice is about how much puzzle you want in your hand.

★★★★★
Excellent gift for our teens. They have used the shashibos as fidget toys and have played the game on repeat, such a cool idea! Highly recommend when a screen break is needed. Arrived in perfect condition.
★★★★★
I got this for my son, who's 7, and it's been a great purchase. He loves experimenting with all the different shapes he can create — it keeps him engaged and off screens for long stretches. On top of that, it's held up really well to daily use, so the durability has been better than I expected for a toy like this. Would definitely recommend for a curious, hands-on kid.
★★★★★
I bought the set of 4 different patterns to give 3 as gifts and keep 1 for me. I really enjoy making beautiful shapes with it. I was surprised when I made a rhombic dodecahedron! I'm a senior citizen. The puzzle is easy to use, just don't force it. It feels good in the hands and opens to be larger than you would expect from the initial cube. The best shapes click into place. The instructions say there are over 70 shapes. I like puzzles of all kinds and this is a very good one.
★★★★★
Purchased for son for Christmas. Only problem was everyone wanted to play with them! Easy to use. Great book with patterns to try for. We had timed games that made everyone laugh. Exceeded expectations.
★★★★★
It's a great toy for fidgeting. Kids from 5-15 are all drawn to it, especially boys. Similar to a Rubik's cube but without the torment. As an adult, I'm thinking of getting one for myself because it's a relaxing exercise for mental and muscle memory. And you don't feel stupid for not restoring it to a cube within 60 seconds; instead, you just explore different shapes. Excellent toy for car seat kids. Recommended.
★★★★★
This is a great fidget-type toy/ puzzle that is easy to take on the go, visually pleasing, and entertaining for the kids. We love having this in the car for long car rides!

About the inventor
Shashibo was invented by Andreas Hoenigschmid, a sand artist who spends his working hours on geometry and form. Inspired by that love of design, he set out to make a magnetic puzzle that anyone could pick up — all ages, all walks of life, even people who are vision-impaired.
Once he worked out how to magnetically join the pieces so they flow into each other, he knew the idea he'd been waiting for had arrived. That is still the rule of the fold today: if it doesn't flow, it doesn't go — you never need to force a Shashibo into a shape.
Shashibo is a shape-shifting magnetic puzzle cube made by Fun In Motion Toys. Inside each classic DODECA cube sit 36 rare-earth magnets that hold twelve triangular faces together, so the cube folds open into stars, pyramids, crowns, rings and more than a hundred other geometric shapes. It is a fidget toy, a brain teaser and a small sculpture at once, and it is recommended for ages 8 and up.
The catalog here is sorted the way people actually shop for a Shashibo. The classic series — Original, Artist, Explorer, Holographic, Wild and Jumbie — cover the best-known designs such as Spaced Out, Blue Planet, Mystic Ocean and Chaos. Art drops and collaborations add work by Laurence Gartel, Meow Wolf and newer limited prints. Character cubes bring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Grateful Dead, Hello Kitty, Pudgy Penguins and Star Trek onto the folds.
If you are choosing a first cube, the DODECA is the everyday favorite. Shashibo OCTA is the smaller, gentler entry point with 28 magnets and over 30 shapes, while the ICOSA XL carries 72 magnets and more than 200 shapes for people who solve puzzles for fun. Every form is compatible with the others, which is why gift boxes, 2-packs and 4-packs are popular: more cubes mean bigger structures.
Alongside the cubes you will find the same maker's flow toys — Mozi and glowing Glozi flow bracelets, SPIN BALLS LED poi and the Wandini levitation wand — for hands that would rather spin than fold. Each listing on this site shows the current price and real ratings, and the buy button takes you straight to the product page to order.
If you want a quiet, screen-free puzzle that grows with you, yes. One cube already opens into 100+ shapes, and because every Shashibo connects to every other, a second or third cube multiplies what you can build rather than repeating it.
Single DODECA cubes in this catalog are listed around $25, OCTA cubes around $20 and ICOSA XL around $35; 2-packs, 4-packs and bundles lower the price per cube. The live price is always shown on each product card.
There is no single solution. Start from the cube, open one corner, then follow where the pieces want to go — the magnets guide you. Our shape notes walk through the first shapes step by step.
The listings recommend ages 8 and above. Younger children often enjoy it with an adult nearby; plenty of grown-ups keep one on the desk for themselves.
Yes. DODECA, OCTA and ICOSA XL, classic designs and character cubes all share the same magnetic system, so they snap together across series.

Start with a single cube, add a second when the shapes start calling.
