How to tell you have an original Shashibo

What separates a genuine Shashibo from look-alike magic cubes: magnets, connection, stickers and size.

Why it matters

Shashibo's popularity brought plenty of shape-shifting cubes that look similar in photos. They often feel different in the hand: weak magnets, pieces that drift apart and stickers that lift early.

Strong enough to connect

A genuine Shashibo is built to collect and connect, so its outer magnets hold firmly to another Shashibo. If two cubes refuse to stay joined, that is the first sign something is off.

Designs inside and out

Original DODECA cubes show one outer design and three inner designs. Look for crisp artwork across all four, not a single repeated print.

The right size

A Shashibo DODECA is about 2.4 inches across when closed — small enough for a palm. Noticeably bigger or smaller cubes are usually not the same system.
